Demonstration in Chicago

In response to the peaceful demonstration at Washington DC on August 7,
we are going to organize a peaceful demonstration in Chicago,
to support the Indonesian-Chinese against the atrocities done to them.

Driving
All Northwestern University students and scholars please  gather  before Tech Building at 9:00, we will arrange to sharing transportation. To reduce the expense, we hope to arrange 4 persons a car. The parking fee will be shared equally with all riders. The gas fee is committed by the owner. We may provide some subsidies, but this is dependent of our  donation. We have received $50 dollars from a Taiwan friend, Po-Chuan Hsing. If you would like to donate for this action, please contact with me wwang@mailcity.com. 

For UIC students, Mr Xu Wenbin will organize the detailed plan. 

For all attendees from company, please drive there directly. The cost is responsible by the owner.

Parking place
Monroe Drive underground parking place (under the Grand Park), less than 10 minutes walking from parking place to the Indo Consulate.
Our demand
Abort the racial discrimination laws against ethnic Chinese Indonesian;
Stop racial discrimination against minorities and protect minority human rights and religious freedom;
Make sure nothing like this type of atrocities ever to happen again;
Perpetrators be immediately brought to justice and be punished;
Provide help and compensation to the victims and their families;
Apologize to the local Chinese Indonesian community for not providing adequate protection.
 
Demonstration
Rules
Peacefully and mentally express our anger against the atrocities done to Indo Chinese;
Respect to the organizer's arrangement about the action activities;
Don't block the coming traffic before the consulate;
Make your own protesting poster, slogan or the materials, if possible;
Transportation and cost are solved by oneself, but we arrange to share the cars;
Cooperate in the protesting action.
