We are pleased to announce the formation of Indonesians of Chinese Heritage Foundation (ICHF). ICHF is a Georgia registered non-profit organization with the following mission:

i. To raise international awareness of human right violations and discrimination against Chinese Indonesians
ii. To provide help and support to the victimized Chinese Indonesians and the human right groups and relief agencies in Indonesia
iii. To promote racial harmony and reconciliation of Chinese Indonesians with other ethnic groups
iv. To promote social reforms and heritage of Chinese Indonesians

RALLY AGAINST ATROCITIES IN INDONESIA
at Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park - August 15, 1998

INDONESIANS of CHINESE HERITAGE FOUNDATION (ICHF) is organizing a

peaceful rally:

Place: Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park
Date: Saturday, August 15, 1998
Time: 10:00AM to 12:00PM

The purpose of the rally is to promote the international awareness of the atrocities committed against the Chinese Indonesians. Chinese Indonesians were tortured, killed, raped, and burnt to death. Their properties were looted. Their houses and shops were destroyed and burnt. Hundreds of Chinese Indonesian women and children were gang-raped in public, and in front of their families. Many of the victims remained traumatized and some women killed themselves after their ordeals. These atrocities violated human rights and are crimes against humanity. The Indonesian government has not taken the responsibility to restore order and to protect the safety of its ethic Chinese citizens.

We strongly urge the news media, the world community, the international agencies, and the government of all nations to:

1. Urge the Indonesian government to take immediate and strong actions to prevent further violence against Chinese Indonesians.
2. Demand Indonesian government to guarantee the security and safety of the victims, witnesses, and volunteer aids of the victims.
3. Demand a thorough investigation of the crimes and punish the perpetrators.
4. Implore the Indonesian government to protect its citizens and to safeguard the religious freedoms and human rights of its minority citizens.

We cannot ignore such injustice and inhumane treatments of our fellow human beings. We cordially invite you to join our efforts to ensure that such atrocious acts will not be forgotten. These heinous violations against human rights and dignities must be stopped.
