Letter (Template) to the UN Human Rights Department. The following is a template for all Indonesian Chinese who is currently in the States.

Dear Ms. Robinson:
We'd like to raise our voice about the human rights abuses
happening now in Indonesia. As Indonesians whose ethnic origin
is Chinese, we're deeply shaken by the countless Chinese-Indonesians
like us who are terrorized and abused, beaten by the mobs and
facing death in the rioting cities of Indonesia.
We're now in America and most of our family members are
there. We must speak up to represent them since majority of them
are unable to voice the injustice they don't deserve. Their voices
are silenced by the violence and uncertainty that faces Indonesian's
dangerous future.
In recent weeks, ethnic Chinese in Indonesia have been the
target of violent, inhuman, and degrading attacks including rape.
Their property has been looted and destroyed. And their lives
are in serious danger.
They are a minority ethnic Chinese who can't defend themselves.
They have been harassed and kicked out from the country, but they
are Indonesian citizens.
They don't have any countries to go to. Currently the Indonesian's
government can't provide any live protection to its own citizens,
especially to the ethnic
Chinese who always became a "scapegoat". We hope,
in writing this letter, we can shine some light on the deeply
troubling seriousness of this situation and most important, we
hope to inspire action by the UN to send humanitarian aid and
peace-keeping troops. By sending policing troops to Indonesia
now, lives can be saved and tragedy can be averted while the unstable
economic condition has a chance to ease and turn around.
We're in contact with friends and family members daily.
We hear stories of rape, murder, property distraction, and deep,
deep fear. Chinese people living in Indonesia, even those who
have lived there for three and four generations, fear for their
lives. The government isn't providing protection. And often, when
soldiers are present, they do nothing to stop the violence and
abuse leveled on the Chinese. Please take action. Send aid and
troops now, while managing the situation is within reach. Act
now, before it's too late. Act now before social unrest becomes
civil war and genocide.
Thank you on behalf of the ethnic Chinese of Indonesia who
live in the United State. We pray that if we're united, we can
defeat hate and senseless killing.
Please help us.
Sincerely,
